When do I have to return my test?

In order to receive credit, you must turn in your answers within a certain period of time, depending on which State you are licensed. Completion dates are taken from the test answer sheet return envelope postmark, date faxed, or date of the email transmission, and must be in the licensing cycle you wish to use the credits.


How do I get the credits?

If you do the exam online, you'll be able to print your certificate immediately. If you prefer the "paper process", fax your exam to 703-935-2190 for scoring. It'll be scored within 48 hours and your CE Certificate will be returned to you by fax or mail.


What if I fail the test?

Course credit will be given for every test answer sheet with at least 70% correct answers. We notify failing students within 10 days of receipt of the test answer sheet and give an opportunity to take a new test. There is no charge for retesting.


What if I sent in my test and I haven't heard from you?

Keep a copy of your test in case it is lost by the Post Office or if your fax is not received. We grade all tests in a timely manner, so if your certificate is not returned to you within 3 weeks, please call 1 (800) 522-1207.


How can I get my test results right away?

Find the course you need, click on the course title and a pdf file will open to your screen for reading, printing or saving. Or, click on "Online Course and Exam" and study the material online.
When you're ready to take the test, return to the same page, then click on "Take Exam". Answer the questions ... Register and Pay through our online encrypted payment system ... We immediately grade the test... You complete a short evaluation form, then your CE Certificate is displayed to your computer screen for printing.


Is this material copyrighted?

The material in all courses is for your personal educational use only and cannot be reproduced or transmitted in any way without the written consent of ADL.


What do I do now that I have received the course material in the mail?

Detailed instructions are in each course. Look for the heading: Instructions.


I do not know enough about computers to do this online. How can I still take the courses?

If you are uncomfortable with downloading files from the Internet, simply register for the traditional paper workbooks. Prices and shipping options are available starting with our Registration Information page. If you have already registered and paid for the electronic version and you decide within 30 days of registering that you want paper workbooks instead, we can apply the charges from the electronic version toward the tuition for the paper version. Just send an email and tell us your name, the courses, and shipping method.


I have an old flyer and the prices are different. Why?

Over the years we have changed the content and offering of our courses. Prices and subject availability stated on this website will apply regardless of what we previously advertised.


What if I find out after I've taken the courses or more than 30 days after my purchase that my State won't allow this continuing education course toward my license renewal?

We're an ADA CERP recognized provider, so our CE credits are accepted in almost every state. If you have any doubts, contact your licensing board. Please keep in mind several States have limitations on subject matter or the number of home-study credits allowed for license renewal. You are responsible to know of these limitations before you register for the course.


May I take the test online and send you a check later?

In order to receive the credit on the date you submit your answers, your tuition balance must be paid in full.


What if I decide not to take the course?

If you are dissatisfied with the courses for any reason, please return the workbook materials within 30 days of purchase in good condition with an explanation and we will refund your full tuition. Shipping charges are nonrefundable. If you decide not to take an electronic version, please notify us within 30 days by email at Customer Service that you will not be completing the course and we can reverse the charges on your credit card and void your registration.


I was supposed to renew my license last month. Can I take the class now and you date it for last month? (or yesterday?)

We do not post-date certificates. Completion dates are taken from the test answer sheet return envelope postmark, date faxed, or date of the email transmission so it is up to each individual to return their test answers within the license renewal period. It is your responsibility to follow up and make sure your test was received and graded if you do not hear back from us within a few weeks. If you need an extension, call your State Licensing Board and explain your situation. They are the only ones with authority to extend your licensing renewal period.

You do not have the required software to view this file. Download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader by clicking and following the instructions from Adobe for downloading and installation. Be sure to follow the step-by-step instructions carefully and make note of the name of the file as well as the location the file is downloaded to your computer. Since the Reader is an application, it may take several (up to 40) minutes to download depending on your Internet connection and how busy their site is at the time.


I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat file and it still isn't working.

The Adobe Reader must be installed in your system. Find the file you downloaded from Adobe, open it, and it will guide you through the installation process.


I installed Adobe Acrobat Reader, but my file won’t work.

The file may have been corrupted when it was opened with another program. Go back to our web page by clicking Download Course and download the file again. You will not be charged extra for the replacement file.
